Both of these presume that you have enabled VBA in Word and enabled macros in the desired document. For more on how to do this, read Microsoft’s documentation on how to enable or disable macros in Office documents (and in particular the section on using the Trust Center with Word). You’ll also need to make the Developer tab available by following the steps outlined in Microsoft’s documentation on that topic.
