Another domestic terrorist with a huge arsenal

Remember, there was a similar plot in LA that was also busted, and then a neo-nazi one in Boston.

Yahoo! News - Cops: Doc Had Firepower, Expertise
By RACHEL LA CORTE, Writer

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - A doctor suspected of hatching an elaborate plot to blow up dozens of mosques and an Islamic education center had enough expertise and firepower to carry it out, police said Saturday. Robert J. Goldstein, a foot specialist, possessed an arsenal powerful enough to level the 200-unit town house complex where he lives and a detailed "mission template" full of instructions, officials said.

I just checked all the stories about this guy on Yahoo news - none of them call him a terrorist. What does a guy have to do ? Or are white educated people never terrorists ? According to the cops, he wasn't just a wacko - he had the expertise to make it work !

We've seen 3 serious bombing plots busted in the US since 9/11, but nothing like this from Al-queda. My prediction - the next victim of a terrorist bomb in the US will be people in a mosque. Shouldn't we be profiling for these guys as well ? If you throw in the fact that the leading Anthrax suspect has ties to white supremacism, we have a definite pattern emerging here. Also - why is it that Jose Padilla (who just talked alot of shit) is in indefinite detention while Goldstein goes through the normal criminal justice system ? Even had Padilla pulled it off, the dirty bomb would have killed very few, as opposed to what Goldstein had planned. Why do we judge actions by their ideology rather than their consequences ? Lastly, where are the reporters ripping through this podiatrists life, asking where the American dream went wrong ? Why did Padilla get the fine-toothed comb, while Goldstein gets to fade into obscurity ?

Right - the guy at El Al wasn't a terrorist b/c it seemed like he had a personal grudge, not an ideological one. He was just a pyscho shooter, like the ones at other workplaces. However, these last three all targetted people by community for specific reasons - therefore they were terroristic in intent. At least let us be consistent about what happens at home. All three of these guys were trying to pull a McVeigh - that makes them terrorists.

Remember that guy who starting shooting at an El Al terminal a few months back? We refused to call him a terrorist. And the NYT still doesn't call Palestinians bombers "terrorists" either. "Terrorist" is an ideological label, and has little to do with the methods used.
