Wasn't there an Ishbadiddle advisory about not posting new topics in the comments? If there was, I disregarded it, and now I'll put it right. After prolonged final status negotiations, Jay and I have decided to get married next summer, joining with the Owlanphys in turning next year into one big Gilbert & Sullivan finale. Here's the whole story.
p.s. Unlike Chris and Emily, we waited a very long time to do this (due to exhaustive pondering of Ennis's question), but we still consider them our cohort and we couldn't have asked for a better one!

Massive congratulations to you both, Andrea and Jay!! Now see if you can scoop everyone else with NADINE offspring naming rights....
Comment #1 :: link :: July 29, 2003 09:00 AMCan I congratulate you again? And when are you going to announce this on your own blog?
Comment #2 :: link :: July 29, 2003 09:00 AMUnlike Chris and Emily, we waited a very long time to do this (due to exhaustive pondering of Ennis's question), but we still consider them our cohort and we couldn't have asked for a better one!
Very sweet and generous of you to say, especially considering I'm the boob who accidentally leaked your news. Didn't I learn anything from four years of corporate press flackdom?
At the very least, I am confident that you two will beat us down the aisle -- or under the huppah, or into the courthouse, or what-have-you...
Now see if you can scoop everyone else with NADINE offspring naming rights....
Yeah, seriously -- since you appear to have beaten Ted and Kate to the altar (they didn't get married while my back was turned, did they?), I think you've definitely earned the right to name your firstborn Nadine or Tasty Bit or The Offspring That Buys in Bulk and Passes the Savings on to You.
Congrats to you guys too! Wow! Weddings are in the air.
Doesn't the rule of threes lead us to expect another announcement soon? From M----- and David Block perhaps?
No, according to the Dharma we are expecting one more breakup, algebraically (Chris and Emily)+( Jay and Andrea) = (Selma Hyak and Ed Norton) + (X and Y) where X and Y represent as yet unnamed people
Comment #5 :: link :: July 30, 2003 09:00 AMX and Y, I believe, are Ishbadiddle and M-----.
Comment #6 :: link :: July 30, 2003 09:00 AMA word of motherly advice: don't rush into things. But since you've made the "big" decision, Congratulations! You have a lot to look forward to.
Comment #7 :: link :: July 31, 2003 09:00 AMHey "Mom", do you think that 12 years of dating is enough time ?
Comment #8 :: link :: August 1, 2003 09:00 AMEnnis, I knew they'd been together a long time, hence the comment with a wink. But 12 years!! Yikes! Prime candidates for the Procrastinator's Club.
Comment #9 :: link :: August 2, 2003 09:00 AMFor the record: On the delaying marriage issue, we affiliate with the Skeptics Club, rather than the Procrastinators. It's not that we were skeptical of the marriages our friends had made, we just weren't sure the institution was right for us. (There are, of course, plenty of other areas in which we procrastinate, but we find their club a bit tedious.)
