And The Ladykillers (1955).





Not surprisingly, the Coen Brothers remake is just not as good as the original. Talking about Poe doesn't make the movie "Gothic," and frankly the Ealing film just does a better job of farce. It's fun to see Tom Hanks do a "character" instead of another Everyman, but Alec Guinness is both funnier and creepier in the same role. 2 and 3 stars, respectively.
