I've wondered when the "shutter click" sound will cease to have any referent but will just exist as "the sound that computers make when they take a picture."

On a related note, I was giving my 2 year-old an old label maker to play with the other day, and I told her, "It's just like a little typewriter." Of course, about half way through that last word, I realized my sentence had gone terribly wrong. My wife then asked me if it was just like a little stone tablet, too.

Anyway, it turned out to be a bad idea. My daughter just kept pulling on the labels while they were printing, and I think the mechanism is broken now. So, I don't recommend label makers as toys for 2 year-olds.

Give her a couple of years, and she'll love the label maker. Unfortunately, it's kind of expensive, as educational toys go, as the labels ain't cheap.
