Oh, you mean that Zion. Finally, I can listen to reggae -- without the guilt!
Do you have the Live at Stubbs record? That's a much better sampling of the Matisyahu vibe. (I can loan it to you.)
He's been pilloried in the rock press as a fratboy toaster-come-lately in a Hasid costume, and I'll agree that his shtick is not as original as he thinks it is. But I found the live record geniune and affecting (and I still think "King Without a Crown" is a fine reggae song). I just don't care for what Sony did to his sound when they brought him into a studio.

Comment #2 :: link :: November 16, 2007 7:55 PMIf I can have the attention of M E-L, would be you please change the posting of the Sherwood F Moran prisoner-interrogation memo to a corrected one?
The one you posted, and that is on the Internet in some spots, has several typos in it, which I have corrected against the original.
I will email you my proofed version (pdf or Word doc) if you will get in touch with me.
Thank you.
David Moran, grandson of USMC Major S.F. Moran
